Ralana is an application developed and provided by Andelser LLC ("Andelser," "we," "us"). This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled when you use the Ralana mobile application, visit our website, or contact us.
Our Core Philosophy: No Accounts, No Data Harvesting
Ralana is built for spontaneous, shared real-time experiences between nearby devices. We do not require you to create an account, register an email address, or provide a password or profile. We do not sell your personal information, nor do we track you across third-party websites or services for advertising.
Information Involved in Using Ralana
- Rooms and Real-Time Coordination: When you connect devices into a room, temporary room identifiers (e.g., room codes), device synchronization signals, and user interaction events within the experience are relayed between participating devices to keep the experience synchronized.
- Device Dimensions & Screen Metrics: To accurately calibrate, position, and align graphics across screens of varying physical dimensions, basic hardware parameters (such as screen resolution, aspect ratio, and device model) are shared within the active room session. This data is used solely to render spatial layouts accurately across devices.
- Network & Operational Logs: Like any internet-connected service, connections to our relay infrastructure involve technical network metadata, including your IP address. Our hosting providers (such as Fly.io) may process connection metadata and operational logs solely to deliver the service, maintain network security, and diagnose connection errors.
- Support Inquiries: If you contact us via email, we receive your email address and any details you provide so we can assist you.
Device Permissions
- Camera: Ralana requests access to your device camera exclusively to scan QR codes generated by other participating devices to join a room. Camera video frames are analyzed locally on your device in real time solely to detect the code. Camera frames and video feeds are never recorded, saved, or transmitted to any server.
- Motion & Accelerometer Sensors: Ralana accesses your device's motion sensors (gyroscope and accelerometer) locally to assist with spatial calibration and phone alignment during shared experiences. This sensor data is calculated on your device in real time and is neither stored permanently nor linked to any personal identity.
Service Providers & Third Parties
Ralana uses a real-time relay service hosted on Fly.io to establish WebSocket communication between participating devices. Data strictly required to coordinate rooms passes through this infrastructure. We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs or tracking pixels in the beta release.
Data Retention & Deletion
Active room sessions exist in temporary memory while participants remain connected and are discarded once the room closes. Because Ralana does not maintain user accounts or personal profiles, there is no persistent account profile data to delete. If you have sent us support emails and would like those records deleted, you may contact us at support@andelser.com or contact@andelser.com at any time.
Children's Privacy & All-Ages Use
Ralana is designed for users of all ages, including families and children. Because the app does not require account registration, passwords, profiles, or user names, Ralana does not collect, store, or solicit personal information from any user, including children under the age of 13. Any camera access (for QR code scanning) and motion sensor processing happens entirely locally on the device in real time and is never uploaded.
Your Choices
You can end a room session or stop using Ralana at any time. You can grant or revoke camera and sensor permissions at any time through your operating system settings (iOS Settings or Android App Settings).
Changes to this Policy
If we introduce new features, optional account registration, or adjust our data handling practices in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy with an updated effective date prior to rolling out those changes.
